Aremco Graphi-Bond 551-RN is a premium, single-component graphite-filled inorganic bonding adhesive specifically engineered for extreme-temperature applications up to 2982°C (5400°F) under inert gas or high vacuum conditions (up to 538°C / 1000°F in air). It provides outstanding adhesion to synthetic graphite, carbon-carbon (C-C) composites, refractory metals, and ceramic insulation.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Extreme Temperature Capability: Withstands temperatures up to 2982°C (5400°F) in argon/nitrogen or vacuum without degradation or structural collapse.
- Thermal Expansion Matching: Formulation closely mimics the low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of high-density graphite, preventing bond line fracture during severe thermal cycling.
- High Purity & Low Outgassing: Inorganic binder system guarantees minimal trace impurities, making it fully compatible with clean semiconductor crystal growing (CZ/FZ) and ultra-high vacuum equipment.
- Thermal & Electrical Conductive: Retains high electrical conductivity and thermal transfer properties across the entire thermal operating spectrum.
Typical Applications:
- Bonding and assembling graphite heating elements, susceptors, and furnace fixtures in vacuum and inert gas furnaces.
- Repairing cracks, spalls, and joint seams in graphite crucibles, boats, and carbon-carbon composite structures.
- Fixturing graphite insulation felt and ceramic fiber boards in high-temperature metallurgical equipment.
