The Bürkert Type 8222 ELEMENT is a conductivity measuring device designed for reliable conductivity monitoring of liquids in industrial and water-treatment applications.
The measuring system combines a two-electrode conductivity cell with a Pt1000 temperature sensor. Different cell constants are available to cover a wide conductivity range. Sensors with cell constants of 0.01 or 0.1 cm⁻¹ use stainless-steel electrodes, while the 1.0 cm⁻¹ version uses graphite electrodes.
Type 8222 is available in ELEMENT Standard and ELEMENT Neutrino variants. The Standard version can provide configurable analogue and transistor outputs and can be equipped with a removable display and configuration module.
The ELEMENT Neutrino version is a compact 2-wire transmitter available with a 4–20 mA output or digital communication. Depending on the version, digital communication can be provided through IO-Link or büS, Bürkert's CANopen-based system bus.
The removable display module can be used for commissioning, parameter setting, calibration, limit configuration and process-value display. Process values can also be simulated for diagnostic purposes.
Depending on the selected configuration, process connection is made via a G 1½ union nut or a G ¾ threaded connection. Different housing and sensor material options are available for standard and corrosive environments.
With its compact construction, flexible communication options and wide measuring range, Type 8222 is well suited for clean water, slightly concentrated liquids, reverse-osmosis systems, water treatment, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and semiconductor process applications.
